So someone did cover the deplorable County meeting that many of us attended in support of the rail study! (See below) For those of you that missed it, here's the Morning Call's depiction of the petty fireworks that night:
Morning Call Article on County Council Meeting
Thanks again to all those who attended to support bringing the train back to Easton. We will not be sidetracked by such shenanigans. I'll let you know when I learn the date of the follow-up County Council meeting at which Council members will vote on whether to approve $75,000 to support the rail study or not, so that we can show up in numbers and speak again.
It appeared that two Council members were staunchly opposed, but the rest were considering public opinion, so we have to continue to let them know that WE WANT THE TRAIN.

Thanks, Noel, for setting up this forum for residents. This is a great way to hear one another and to distribute information we can get behind.
I was at that Council meeting, my first. It was deplorable and reminded me to find out more about who holds the seats. I will definitely vote them in or out at the next election based on service to Easton. That evening's peformance was a disservice. Paul Marin was left with a tense atmosphere and curtailed time to present his detailed proposal for the Lehigh Valley public transportation system. Despite the fiasco, I have hopes funding for the Rail Study will be approved. It is critical that we get behind him at every step and get the train back once again to Easton. Our local economy can only benefit from it.
Please do let us know what next steps are to take place and what West Ward residents can do to help.
