Slight Correction from Gary at WWNP

Noel,

Thanks for keeping the blog updated and in such an informative format. I will offer a slight correction regarding the Urban Ecology Grant, which is a five year grant awarded by the Wachovia Regional Foundation. Our original funding for The West Ward Neighborhood Partnership is a ten year commitment from Lafayette Ambassador Bank and Easton Hospital, which is basically at $100,000 per year. Besides the original funding and the Wachovia grant, the WWNP is also funded by Elm St. (the State program sponsored by Rep. Bob Freeman’s legislation). In addition, we have been awarded a PennDOT Grant of $303,000, which is devoted to revitalizing the 600 block of Northampton Street, which will show evidence in the spring when our new street lights are installed. (There will also be improved sidewalks and trees added to the 600 block hopefully in the spring of 2009).

Gary
