City-Wide Clean-Up Day This Saturday, April 25th

Hi Everybody,

This Saturday is the big city-wide clean-up, and below is a message from Sophia regarding where we can get supplies, and where to put the trash when we're done:

There is alot going on, on Saturday. Paul Barber, with the Weed and Seed Tall team will be at Centennial Park at 9:00 AM with garbage bags, work gloves, and tools. I believe the city is dumping a load of mulch at Centennial and a group is going to work there cleaning up the park and mulching the trees and garden beds. Residents can pick up supplies from Paul for their individual or group clean-up. The West Ward office will have a table in the parking lot of the Old Cottingham school building, from 9 to noon where people can also pick up supplies and pick up a recycling barrel for free. They must show some kind of ID to verify that they live in the West Ward to get a free 32 gallon barrel. A group from Canton 6 is cleaning Ferry from 10th to 7th and we may also go down S. 8th to the steps.

People should place garbage bags along the street and notify Paul or the WW table of the location of the bags. The city will be picking them up on Monday morning. The city is not collecting tires but will take any tires found with the garbage bags.

There will be a crew cleaning up along the Bushkill creek. They will meet at 9:00 a.m at the mouth of the Bushkill (where it empties into the Delaware) and another crew will meet at 10:00 a.m. on 13th street between the Bushkill and the rt 22 overpass.

So pick any one of these gatherings and get all the supplies you need--let's clean up the neighborhood and make it look for a day as good as it hopefully will one day look all the time!
