$10,000 Grant Awarded to Clean Up Escarpment at S.10th Street

Below is an article by Ed Sieger of the Express Times on a new grant for clean-up of the escarpment at then end of S. 10th Street, where people--and businesses--have been dumping their trash and waste for years down the bank leading to the Lehigh River. In the article, Mayor Panto says that the money will be used for a fence to help prevent more dumping, but that actual clean-up will have to be done by volunteers. West Ward resident Louella Morris of Weed & Seed is quoted in the article, which covers a range of issues with this ongoing clean-up problem:
