Below is an invitation I received via email from Lt. Remaley of the EPD, our Community Liaison Officer, encouraging residents to attend the new Safety Committee Meetings that will be held with Weed & Seed and the community on the third Thursday of every month. These meetings have replaced the Tall Team Meetings that used to be held at 2pm--a very inconvenient time for most residents to attend. The new meetings will usually be held at the Salvation Army at 1110 Northampton every 3rd Thursday at 7pm. This month however, the meeting was moved to this week, and will be held at Centennial Park at 6pm. I will be attending, and anyone who is interested in hearing about the EPDs procedures in the WW, and/or sharing what you've observed in terms of suspicious behavior on your blocks, should come meet me at Centennial Park:
"Noel, please encourage any of the residents you speak to...to consider attending one of the Safety Committee meetings held every third Thursday of the month at the Salvation Army at
1110 Northampton St at 7:00 P.M. This would be a good forum for them to voice their concerns as well as learn a little of our enforcement efforts around the city. Also, as always, you can advise them to contact me at 610-250-6752 if their concerns can not wait until the next scheduled meeting...I believe that these meetings may be more effective if we get more of the voice of the general public involved regarding what will be taking place in their neighborhoods." ~Lt. John Remaley, Easton Police Department
-----------
I repeat: THIS week's Safety Committe Meeting will be held at a different time & location than usual:
Centennial Park, 12th & Ferry
Thursday, July 23, 6:00 p.m.
I hope to see a few residents there, especially if you have contacted me recently with specific crime concerns. It's important, now that the EPD is being more open and welcoming as to resident input, to take them up on the invitation to do so. If you have any questions, you can post them here, or call Lt. Remaley at the number above.
