If you haven't seen this article from the other day, please read it now. Apparently Michele Vulcano, daughter to Pat (School Board) and Sandra (City Council) Vulcano is threatening to sue the School District for not letting her continue to teach without a proper teaching certificate. She was issued an emergency teaching certificate last year, which is supposed to only be issued when there are no other qualified applicants. Please also note the comments posted to this Express Times article--several people assert that there were other qualified candidates--does anyone that reads this blog know whether that is true or not? If so, please post here.
Either way, if Michele Vulcano sues the School District, it could end up raising our taxes--either in legal fees to fight it, or a settlement to pay her. There are many cries of nepotism in the comments posted to this article--what do you think? Also, FYI, Pat Vulcano is apparently running unopposed in November, unless a write-in candidate emerges...
