West Ward Neighborhood Partnership Seeks New Director

Gary Bertsch, Director of the West Ward Neighborhood Partnership

Posted by: Noel Jones

The Express Times reported today that Gary Bertsch, Director of the West Ward Neighborhood Partnership, will be retiring and moving to Florida after running the WWNP offices for the last five years. While I'm sad to lose him as a neighbor, let's wish him all the best in his retirement to sunny shores!

The article also reports that the search has begun for a new director, and residents are encouraged to apply--read all about it in Ed Sieger's article:

Maybe some of the commuters in the neighborhood would like to consider working closer to home?

To find out more about applying, contact Sophia at the West Ward Neighborhood Partnership:

Hopefully someone who lives in the West Ward will step in to continue Gary's good works!

We certainly have enough talent to draw on in the neighborhood...it will be exciting to see who steps forward...thanks, Gary for all your hard work!

It will be sad to see Gary go. He is the person who drew me into this whole community thing (when I got a nasty note from the city saying I needed to remove an 80 year old tree in front of my house) He always tried his best to be helpful. I hope he enjoys his retirement, I know he's worked hard, it's a difficult job!

I hope we can find someone who lives and loves Easton and who is dedicated to doing all that needs to be done to take Easton to the next level!

I wanted readers to know that Gary will be missed and he leaves a difficult task of finding someone with his passion and work ethic to make the west ward a better place for all residents. His drive was only surpassed by his compassion for the residents of the neighborhood.

I wish Gary well and can only hope that the next director will endear neighbors to volunteer the way Gary was able to get volunteers to make a difference.

Best wishes Gary, I enjoyed working with you and thank you on behalf of everyone at City Hall.

Great comments from the mayor. Class act considering Bertsch ran against him in the election. Both are in the right position to help the city. Sorry to see Gary go.
