~ EACC (Easton Area Community Center) Goes Green on March 31st and April 1, 2, & 5 -- Wed., Thurs., Fri. and then Mon. EACC Goes Green is organized by School of Natural Learning and EACC with some assistance from Northampton County Community College.
~ On Saturday, April 17th, the West Ward will be participating in Lafayette's Lafapalooza Day. This day of service is sponsored by Lafayette College and will feature events in West Ward's pocket parks. (More details will be posted in April.)
~ Also on the 17th: Tour the West Ward's Community Gardens. The 10th and Pine St. Community Garden and S. 5th St. Community Garden will be open for visitors. Other community gardens are: 801 Walnut St., Lynn St. and South Side Community Garden. There are other community gardens forming in the West Ward. Come out to meet your neighbors and get involved!
~ The Easton Farmers Market opens May 1st! New this year: Take the trolley to the market! Trolley stops will be announced soon. Also, customers will be able to use their WIC coupons and food stamps at the market.

the flats has one of the finest parks in the city and the area for that matter --- Hugh Moore Park. If you can walk to the flats you can cross the bridge. I use it regularly for walking and biking and this summer we will have a few picnics there. Cool breezes off of the river even on hot muggy days.
