Movies at the Mill is Back--and Takes It Up A Notch for 2010

The second annual Movies at the Mill film festival will be held in the courtyard of the old Simon Silk Mill in Easton's West Ward

Check out Ed Sieger's article from yesterday in the Express Times--the film festival is coming back, and if you were impressed last year, this year's event is going to be head and shoulders above the last, including in the line-up, the Oscar Award-winning documentary, Music By Prudence, by Easton native Roger Ross Williams, as well as Reto Caffi's 2007 Oscar-nominated short film, On the Line.

Easton's own Gershon Hinkson will again be producing the event, which is slated for September 18th. Tickets will be sold for $5 this year--going on sale within the week at locations around town, and the event's web site: moviesatthemill.com

it is my understanding that the date may now be changed if Roger Williams is available on another date. Apparently the committee didn't realize that the only day he was available in September was a Jewish holiday and they are now loking to change the date. I am sure we will hear more in the next few days but that's what someone in city hall told me yesterday when I inquired about the availability of tickets.

I attended last year and was very impressed, especially for the first year. I understand that there will be no film trailers this year. They will show 6 film shorts one of which will be Music by Prudence which I have yet to see and can't wait and one from another academy award nominee from Sweeden. And of course I am really looking forward to Gershon's newest which is about a real problem in today's schools --- bullying.

Stay tuned for more info as I receive it.
