Live Theater and Music at Cafe d'Olivet This Weekend

Posted by: Noel Jones

This weekend Olivet United Presbyterian Church is presenting Cafe d'Olivet, a musical event combining members of the Chansonnette Theatre, Easton's community theater with the East Coast Sound Brass Quintet, with musically talented young musicians of the Lehigh Valley.  The quintet is led by Mathew Silvius of Bath, PA, who is also the music director of Olivet Church choir and congregation.  Relax in a warm cafe atmosphere and enjoy fabulous music and refreshment.  This is a fundraiser for Olivet and will be held in their auditorium located on the corner of 12th and Northampton Streets in Easton.  Performances are Saturday evening October 2nd at 7:00 and Sunday matinee, October 3rd at 2:00.  Tickets are $8.

I wasn't able to go--if anyone saw the show, please let us know how it was!

The Chansonette members are amazing community theater veterans and each one brings the treasure of years of performance experience to their delivery of Broadway songs which couched in a cafe atmosphere was charming (rather like a salon performance.)

The East Coast Brass Quintet was very smooth and their selection of pieces spiritual and moving.

Thanks for the review, Cathy. Don't they have another show coming up soon?
