Missing Teenager: Kayla Vreedenburg

Missing: Kayla Vreedenburg, 17, since Saturday, Oct. 2nd

Posted by: Noel Jones

A Phillipsburg teen has gone missing and was last seen in our neighborhood on the 1100 block of Lehigh Street at 1:00 p.m. wearing black "skinny jeans" and a black t-shirt. Kayla is 5'6", 195 lbs.  She has a dark brown mohawk (blonde on the sides), and two tattoos: a nautical star w/fire on her inner left forearm, and cherries on her outer right arm.

If you have any information on Kayla's location, please call either the Phillipsburg or Police Departments (contact info for the EPD is on the right side bar of this home page), or contact Kayla's mother, Marla Johnston via email at: rockinstylist@gmail.com

Fingers crossed...

Do any of our readers on Lehigh Street remember seeing this girl last Saturday? It would have been in the middle of the afternoon, 1pm, during the Garlic Fest...

I have not seen this advertised in the papers yet--did I miss it? Has anyone else seen an article? If so, please post the link here--thanks!

I'm glad to see that you posted this, as we just found out ourselves.
Nicely done. I'm wondering if there is any connection to the Lafayette incident?
Probably not, but I'm curious.
Thanks,
David

It's possible, as the girl disappeared before the suspect was apprehended. I don't know if it's been ruled out or not. I truly hope that this is a runaway case, and not an abduction case. Fingers crossed...

We were out of town most of Saturday... and I don't recognize her... does anyone know who she was visiting on Lehigh Street? Who last saw her?

UPDATE: Kayla has been found safely. It sounds like it turned out to be a runaway situation. Below is a message from Kayla's mother, Marla:

"Thank you so much in your search for Kayla. Please forward to all that you have sent about her missing that she has returned home. She went into Bethlehem and returned to Easton where her boyfriend was and he did the right thing and called the police.

Thank you once again.

Marla Johnston"
