Anyone who wants to know the inside story on how Wall Street caused the collapse of our economy might be interested in seeing this film at the Civic Theatre in Allentown. If you've never been to the theater before, it's a gorgeous old theater that normally shows plays, but in between the plays shows independent films. It's a great place and I'm definitely going to go see this documentary.

I saw this movie tonight (Friday, Nov 19th). Excellent work with no stone left unturned or ego left unbruised in it's making. I recommend it to everyone with an ounce of indignation about what has been perpetrated upon us.
Early in this crisis (late 2008) I had an email exchange about it with some equally appalled friends. I told them then that we should watch Iceland closely. It was the canary in the coal mine. As it went, so went the rest of the world.
I said this because I had just finished two books about the history of societal rises and falls by Jared Diamond; "Guns, Germs and Steel" and "Collapse". I knew Iceland had a long history of resiliant and conservative management of their country's tenuous fortunes. If they could go down - with their previous knowledge of avoiding disaster - then all bets were off.
I was blown away when the first scene of the movie was the recounting of the Iclandic banking industry's total collapse in 08-09.
Have a look at this film. You will not be disappointed - except in the actions of those we trusted.

I finally saw this tonight--my stomach was in a knot the entire time. A MUST SEE film for anyone who wants to know the specific details of what caused our economy to collapse in 2008--indicting presidents over decades on both sides of the aisle...
Every American should see this movie to understand why the banks failed and were bailed out, why our jobs disappeared, why 401ks were lost and why the foreclosure rates are what they are in our country today.
It is an absolute crime that Geithner, Bernanke and Barney Frank, among others, are still working in Washington.They should all be in jail.
It will make you sick and angry--but we can't change things for the better until we understand what happened, so I hope everyone will make it a priority to see this film.
