Interactive Census Map Shows Racial Make-Up of Every U.S. Neighborhood

The New York Times has developed an interactive census map that will tell you the racial make-up of any neighborhood in the U.S!

I've always liked the reality of the racial makeup of the city; Easton seems to have an inordinate amount of interracial couples and offspring. these folks tend to not see themselves fitting into a rigid list of descriptors, and will usually opt for 'other'.
that being said, I think you get a better idea of the racial makeup of Easton by just walking around than you would from the census.
I always notice too the groups of kids walking home from school; more than likely, they will always be a mixed group, all good friends getting along just fine.

I agree. I think that the surprise to some people will be that the Hispanic population outnumbers the black population by 5% at 23%.

For instance, I have never heard any politicians running for office speaking any Spanish phrases at all when in public, and yet 1 in 5 residents in Easton is Hispanic. Of course, being Hispanic, doesn't necessarily mean that someone is Spanish-speaking...

The Latino increase has been recent. There is a lot of white poverty in Easton.
