“Plaid Poems in Your Plaid Pockets”
Based on the annual “Poem in Your Pocket” begun by The American Poets Organization in New York City, this event celebrates the art and form of plaid and poetry in downtown Easton. “Poem in Your Pocket” was begun in 2002 and celebrated in New York City through open readings of poetry in bookstores, schools and libraries and invites everyone to burst forth with a reading of a poem from their pocket.
Organized by Maryann Riker of Phillipsburg, NJ, local poets Mary Buccos, Margaret Campbell, Pamelee LaDuca, Jim McGlynn, Nancy Scott and Beth Seetch will read their favorite plaid poems from their plaid pockets. Anyone who loves plaid and poetry is welcome to join us in an open reading afterwards.

I want to thank everyone who came out today to celebrate "First Ever Plaid Poem in Your Plaid Pocket". Poets read, sung and entertained with great words about plaid, life and pockets! Mary Buccos, Margaret Campbell, Noel Jones, Pamelee LaDuca, William Marley, Jim McGlynn, Nancy Scott, and Beth Seetch and a few more read their creative works to celebrate Plaid and Poetry at St. John's Gallery. Thanks again and here's to an open invite to all for next year's event, same time, same place. And, don't forget...there will be an open mike for poetry on Tuesday, April 12th at Room 108, Williams Center, Lafayette College beginning at 8 p.m. Come out with your poems in hand for a fun evening! Thanks again to all who attended and don't forget Thursday, April 14th is National Poem in Your Pocket Day...read a poem today!!!
