More good news from the EASD! According to this article by K.J. Frantz for the Express-Times, students from Forks and Palmer townships took 12th place out of 64 competing teams from all over the world at the Odyssey of the Mind competition in Maryland recently. Here is a description of the competition from the competition's web site:
"...an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program. "

again it shows that EASD is more than athletics. We have a fine educational system with AP courses available and merit scholars. It's just that for some reason we don't talk about our academics like our sports. Our music program and our art programs are second to none. Even our state test scores are doing well, especially at the city elementary schools and the middle school. If we could just get better Board members and administrators we would have it all.
well, we'll get our chance in November!
Will there be a parade?
