In the Name of Security, What the Hell is Going On with the TSA?

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."~Benjamin Franklin

Posted by: Noël Jones

A six-year old girl gets hands down her pants. An 95 year-old, wheel-chair bound woman, terminally ill with lukemia gets her diaper examined. A 71 year-old man with a knee-replacement gets his pants pulled down and TSA makes him stand in his underwear in public.

All in the name of security and political correctness, to prove that the
government isn't profiling anyone.

In the meantime, The Huffington Post reports today that a Nigerian stowaway managed to fly from New York to Los Angeles on nothing more than a college I.D. and a handful of out-dated boarding passes that were not even in his name.

The only person running for President of the United States in 2012 that I have seen address this issue on the floor of congress is Ron Paul:

Most disturbing is that Ron Paul points out that Michael Chertoff sells our government the TSA body scanners, and that he is the former Head of Homeland Security under both Presidents Bush and Obama, and therefore also head of the TSA. He is getting rich hand over fist by selling the illusion of security, while comprising our liberty, risking our health with the powerful radiation of these machines, and wasting our tax money doing it.

Am I the only one mad about it this? Why are we all just going along with this like a bunch of bleating sheep?

i'd be interested to hear recent airline security stories from readers...

Stop worrying. It's all under control. The TSA is busy stopping all potential terrorist threats like eldery women in incontinence diapers and people flying without valid ID or boarding pass...oh. Wait. Sorry.

this just makes me want to wear a diaper to an airport and pee in it.

in fact, i think it would be a fine protest for parents of children and children of the elderly to start saving dirty diapers, fill up a couple of suitcases, and go get in line!

no--better yet--we should send a bunch of dirty diaper suitcases to Michael Chertoff ( I.D. and signature required)

and why is Ron Paul the only one talking about this? this is homeland security, civil liberties and wasteful spending on government contractors all rolled into one!

Only Ron Paul is talking about it because he is a libertarian. All other politicians are statists from either the red or blue team.

Then statism sucks. I don't know why anyone has to be a libertarian to say they don't wanted somebody's unsolicited hand down their pants (or their diaper, as the case may be).

I am not a libertarian, I am politically independent, and I can say that without a problem. But I like a lot of what libertarians have to say. Especially Ron Paul, who seems to not only be the only one talking about abuses of civil liberties, but even more importantly, the corruption and need for abolition of the Federal Reserve (which is neither federal, nor a reserve, as it is just a panel of Wall Street bankers who print new money for themselves whenever they feel like it, with the blessing our government, whose only control over them is that they appoint the Chairman each time--who always ends up being another sleazy Wall Street banker keeping the gravy train of money printed out of thin air rolling along, and keep manipulating interest rates for the gain of his banking buddies).

Please, everybody, if you haven't already, watch "Inside Job" on Netflix:
