Yard Sale for a Good Cause: Saturday, June 11th

Posted by: Noël Jones

Now you can go yard sale-ing with TWO excuses--not just that the stuff is cheap, but that it's raising money for the Boys and Girls Club of Easton. Being that yard sales are high on my list of favorite things to do, I'm bummed to be missing this, but wanted to let the rest of you know about it! They are also looking for volunteers to help with the sale. Here's the info from Dean Young at the Boys and Girls Club:

Dear Club Volunteers, Members, Parents and friends:

The B&GCE Drill/Step Team will perform this Saturday Morning at St. Paul's Third Lutheran Church at 2561 Newburg Road in Easton PA, during their yard/craft sale, starting promptly at 10:00am and offering a repeat performance at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 11, 2011.

You are cordially invited to join us as spectator, volunteer, vendor and or shopper during the yard sale!  Thanks to Sarah Frey proceeds from the yard sale directly benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Easton and youth activities associated with the Club.

A great event for a great cause....I love it when things like this happen! I need to find stuff for a 1 yr old; this is a perfect place for that.
Unfortunately, just today I promised to be elsewhere and will miss this.
Noël - could you post these events a couple days earli....oh, never mind.

Alan - Your comment was mostly innocent enough, albeit poorly considered. It happened when she was traveling and forgot her supply of be-nice pills.
The real entertainment value here is that she let you have it with both barrels. Her response was overly harsh, uncalled-for, and entertaining as all get out.
Grow some thick skin and let it roll off.

tachitup--Alan has a special place in my heart--as he is probably the most community-engaged Lafayette student in recent history (for which I appreciate him greatly since I try to promote engagement on this blog), and he does post helpful info and links here from time to time.

I welcome constructive criticism at all times, but pointless criticism, unfortunately, seems to be a contagious rash in Easton--no scratching!
