According to Kelly Huth's article in the Express-Times, Genesis is expecting hundreds of cyclists for their annual Bike to Brunch event to be held on September 11th this year. Riders can check in at 10 a.m.,
and escorted rides begin at 11 a.m. Cyclists will ride to Hugh Moore Park for a free brunch, live music, a magic show, and other games and shows. At 3:30 they will give away a bicycle!
You can register online at genesisbicycles.com, by phone at 610-253-1140 or you can just stop by their shop at 126 Bushkill Street in Easton.

Now this, is a great idea. I've seen things like this done in other cities , Manayunk host a yearly bike competition for example. And it never fails but to boost local revenue with almost no downside.
We may even come and watch.

Nice idea, but why have it the same day as the VIA marathon/half marathon/marathon relay?
About 3,000 runners will be making their way through Hugh Moore park finishing in Center Square that morning.
Hmmn...sounds like Hugh Moore park is going to be buzzing on Sept. 11th! 400 cyclists and 3,000 runners?
I think that was the point........Where do they all go? Hugh Moore park can't handle that type of crowd.
If there's enough intrigue around that question, there might end up being a crowd WATCHING the crowd...
Sadly this event has been canceled due to rain, thunderstorms and flooding on the way...
