Come to the Launch Party! The All New and Expanded Neighbors of Easton Launches Friday, September 9th

It's almost here...
Posted by: Noël Jones

After almost a year in the works, the new and expanded Neighbors of Easton will finally be launched, featuring 12 pages of news, information and forums for public discussion both for
neighbors already living in our area, or people new to Easton who are considering moving here. Special thanks to the Apple store trainers, as I practically lived at the Whitehall mall for a couple of months while their team helped me design the site in iWeb.

I also want to thank all of the blog’s new sponsors--your support means a lot to me--and it means that Neighbors of Easton can continue to grow and help to promote a localized economy in our area, while continuing to provide news and information for the community. The blog will now support local businesses, farms and real estate, and I am proud to say that the sponsors on the home page make up some of my favorite businesses in our area.

Most of all, I would not have been able to get this far without the blog’s regular readers and commenters, who send me information all the time, and contribute to the discussions. If you have ideas for the blog after the launch please contact me at neighborsofeaston@gmail.com. It has been a pleasure and a passion providing this blog for the community for the past three years, and I’m very excited to be able to offer even more as readership grows and expands. I am happy to report that the blog recently broke 13,000 hits/month of “organic” traffic, and now that the new site will be networked through Facebook and Twitter, and the search engine will be optimized for the first time, I am looking forward to watching the readership grow even more. You can support by “liking” the Neighbors of Easton Facebook fan page to help build the buzz, and by following the blog on Twitter @NeighborsEaston.

COME TO THE LAUNCH PARTY FRIDAY NIGHT AT BLACK & BLUE TO HELP CELEBRATE!

I would love to meet more readers in person--come celebrate with me! The party will feature Weyerbacher's Autumn Fest, and fresh food from local farm sponsors, prepared by Kelly-Jo Ditze, owner of Black & Blue at 683 Walnut Street cross from the courthouse in Easton. The party is from 8-10pm--what better way to beat the rain? Don't be shy--come say "hi!"--and bring friends--the party is open to all!

nah, tunsie, what will happen is that everyone will have a beer and some good food and discover that people with all different points of view can actually have a good time together and the sky won't fall if we don't agree on everything ; )

but keep it on the DL--we don't want the powers-that-be finding out that regular people in local communities can actually have robust disagreements AND a good time--that would be way too dangerous--individuals perfectly capable of figuring things out and handling it themselves.

there are many in this country who have much invested in keeping everyone fighting tooth and nail and not listening to consider each other's points of view...

but remember--beer and good food is MAGIC. and the Revolutionary War started in the taverns!

Congratulations, Noel! I have been reading this blog, I believe, from the beginning. And to see how far the blog has grown has been unbelievable! I love the stories, the information and especially the comments. While I do not live in Easton any longer, your blog makes me feel like I never left. I don't think I can make it tomorrow night, but I look forward to continuing to engage with you and the blog as you continue to grow.

Thanks, Alan--sorry you'll miss the party, but I'll see you on "the other side" and look forward to your comments!

Thankfully I'm a strong swimmer and it isn't far from the house. It has by all means been interesting watching this grow from a handful to quite a bunch.
Just to help my sometimes kitchy memory- this is tommorow right?
Thanks, and brightest blessings,
David

~noel congratulations you have definitely made your mark in the City of Easton.I have been reading your blog and commenting for a long time.It has provide me with information I needed to know and I have enjoyed the banter of all who have posted, those who have agreed with your comments and those that haven't. You have been successful in creating a forum for Jane Q.Public to comment on the different topics.
Kudos to you for sticking with it and giving those of us who love the City a place to voice our opinions. I have always enjoyed reading the posts,I may not have always agreed with them, but that has been the beauty of the blog,The ability to agree or disagree. Thank you for all your hard work and put you waders on,Mother Nature has given us a warning!!! Sww
