Articles on Security Cameras in the West Ward

There apparently are folks both for and against the installation of security cameras in the West Ward. The opposition seems to be coming from outside the WW, not within, and is getting pretty vocal. No matter what side you're on, it's important to stay on top of this issue and make our voices heard. A City Council meeting was held this past week, on short notice and at 5:15pm on a work night--again eliminating input from any residents who commute from a 9-5 job. There also was no mention of our town hall meeting earlier this year at which many residents spoke in favor of getting security cameras:

Such proposals normally create pretty heated debates, which in itself is a good thing as more and more people get involved in the affairs of their community.

IM ALL FOR SECURITY CAMERAS!!!
On my block alone we have had so many cars broken into and all the police can do is take a report and go about business. While the owners of cars have to pay a small fortune to replace their window or windows.. The crime has gone up in the past 5 yrs.So I say yes to these cameras ! If these thiefs know they are being watched they will think twice before acting out.
