Want to get healthier? Get help on taxes? Find affordable healthcare? Quite Smoking? Start recycling? This message is from Laura Accetta of Weed and Seed regarding a great neighborhood event they have coming up:

Weed and Seed’s annual GOOD EATS AND GOOD TREATS event will be held February 14th, 2009 at Paxinosa Elementary School, 12th and Northampton Streets. The event will begin at 10:30 am and will end at 2:30 pm. Students in grades K-8 are invited and encouraged to attend. The Good Eats and Treats event intends to give families living in the West Ward neighborhood (6th-15th St. & Lehigh River to the Bushkill) information on FREE or low-cost healthy lifestyle options. These will include:

• Low-fat/low-sugar snacks
• High fiber meals
• FUN active games
• Kid-friendly recreation
• Important health information for parents
• Helfpful information on taxes
• Important information on healthcare
• Important information on childcare
• Helpful information on how to quitting smoking
• Recycling information
  

Children and their parents will be able to stop at various booths and stations set up around the Paxinosa gymnasium.
