Under 14 Parks--Stay or Nay?

Below are two articles on the upcoming decision to expand the under-14 rule to all City parks--there will be a meeting this Thursday at 5:15pm if this issue is important to you. Those among us with kids, especially teens, might be particularly affected by this rule, so feel free to post your comments here, and attend the meeting Thursday if you can make it:

Has the rule helped? I really don't know where I stand on this one--I'd like to hear from you, so please post your comments here.

Thanks for the link, Noel! If anyone want to go straight to my blog post about the teen-park-ban, click on this link. (Noel's link above points to our Two Rivers Blog's homepage, which is also good!)

ABSOLUTELY my kids arew free again to enjoy the summer and the playground. The ENTIRE area was nbetter for the bsn. Thanks to the mayor for his courage to stand up for us and hopefully city council will do the same.

I think the ban definetly worked last summer. I remember the year before there were large numbers of hoodlums assembling in these parks. I support the ban and agree that the officers need to use discretion and allow young teens who are playing baball to stay.

It is good also to know that they are adding police on foot and bikes. Everything so far has been working well. Let's just be sure to keep a full-court pressure on the gangs -- no pun intended.
