Ground-Breaking on Our New 5th St. Community Garden!

It's beginning! The first of our neighbor-planned community gardens will be breaking ground on April 18th at 5th & Ferry Street! Below is a message from Joanne Czeck from Courthouse Canton 5 inviting any of us who have time to come down to be there for this exciting time and chip in:

Hi All,
The city approved use of the lot for the garden, money has been approved for materials and we have volunteers from Cornerstone Church on College Hill to do the construction work. Construction date is Saturday, April 18th, 9am to ?. (If it's really raining hard, raindate will be following Saturday.) Hoping we can get a good turnout of volunteers and as many Canton 5 members as possible.

We will be putting together a potluck lunch that day for volunteers. Gary Bertsch said he'd try to get a tent. I have a few folding tables and about 8 chairs. Any Canton 5 neighbors, Friends of 5th St. Community Garden able to join us and/or bring a potluck dish? (anything will do... Dunkin Doughnuts, salad, sandwiches...etc. ) If so, please let me know so I can do some planning. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Joanne
