More on Bike Patrols

I just got word from Chief Palmer that the bike officers did saturation patrols of 8th & Ferry, 10th & Ferry and 13th & Ferry as well as 7th & Northampton in the past week, ticketing for loud noise and other nuisance crimes. So even though they've only been reported in the papers once, they are happening consistently. Because its mostly for nuisance crimes, it's not likely to get into the papers unless drugs and violence are involved (if it bleeds it leads). It might show up in the blotter though...

Remember to keep those tips coming--here again is contact info for reporting crime in the neighborhood:

If the situation is urgent: call 911

EPD Non-Emergency: (610) 330-2200

For passing on tips, email Officer Remaley at: jremaley@easton-pa.gov.

Try to be as specific and detailed as you can in your descriptions, date/time/location, height/build/age/clothing, car description/license plate/direction headed--all details are helpful to our officers in reducing crime in our neighborhood.

Please post a comment here if you've seen bike patrols in your area!

I am ecstatic to see them on bikes and in the numbers they are out in the last few weeks. Keep up the good work. (The Clean and Safe program is actually happening! --- Imagine that!)

Hope to see everyone at the parade tonorrow morning for our veterans.
