If you missed the first online streaming of the Easton Area School District meeting on Thursday, you can watch the archived footage at the link below to see how the people we elect conduct themselves:

FYI: the meeting doesn't really start until about 14 minutes into the video, so click on the bar anywhere you like once you're in, to see the parts of the meeting that interest you. This is great for those who couldn't make the meeting due to work or family obligations--now you can watch in your own time. Post your comments here!

Here are some articles from the Express Times on the meeting:

Keep in mind that all of this is going on while they consider yanking 60% of funding from the Easton Public Library, which would result in its closing.

Yes, this is quite a step forward for the Easton district. The public needs to know what is going on. It's a great idea. I'm from the Allentown area and we have heard that the technology in Easton is outstanding. I have taken some graduate classes and their website is often referenced for ideas and great teaching links. By the way, thank you for your blog. Community members like you should be congratulated for your active involvement. Take care.

thanks for posting--it's really the earnest discussion and debate between readers that is most important and i'm excited to see that people are starting to jump in and take part. and thanks for caring about easton even though you're in allentown. that's why i named the blog Neighbors of Easton--so that the name was inclusive of both the opinions of neighbors within easton, as well as those of communities that neighbor us. many concerns and issues in the west ward and easton are shared by the entire lehigh valley community, so thanks and welcome!

What a great school board we have here at EASD. Build, build and build more facilities still too small to handle the class size. Then in one swift kick give the library to the city and make the municipalites pay. Duh, that's still me!
