Esta semana empezarán a recibir sus cuestionarios del Censo 2010. Según Thomas Harp con el Condado de Northampton, es muy importante que todos completen sus cuestionarios y que los devuelvan por correo. No importa su estatus legal, todos deben responder al formulario o van a recibir una visita de un representante del Censo. Una cuenta correcta de la población del Condado de Northampton es vital para nuestra representación en U.S. House of Representatives y para los fondos federales que recibimos para servicios humanos, de salud y educación. El formulario del Censo de este año es muy fácil de llenar con solo diez preguntas y como 10 minutos de su tiempo. El 23 de Marzo, de las 9 de la mañana hasta las 4 de la tarde, un representante de U.S. Census Bureau va estar disponible en el primero piso de Northampotn County Courthouse para asistir con llenar al formulario y para responder a sus preguntas. Llenan el Censo y sean contados!

This week is the week of the Census. Please see the very important information below provided by Thomas Harp of Northampton County.
Next week, U.S. households will be receiving their 2010 Census questionnaires. The official Census Day is April 1. That is the date that you will be reporting how many individuals reside in your residence and some basic characteristics of your household. It is very important that everyone completes their 2010 Census form and mail it in. An accurate count of Northampton County’s population is vital for
representation in the U.S. House of Representatives, and in directing adequate levels of federal funding to our area for human services, health and educational programs. The 2010 Census form is the easiest one ever to fill out. Only 10 questions that should take 10 minutes or less to answer.
In the 2000 Census Northampton County actually exceeded the national and state averages for participation. The final statistics were:
US: 72%
Pennsylvania: 76%
Northampton County: 83%
We hope to exceed this level of participation in the 2010 Census. On March 23 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm a representative of the U.S. Census Bureau will be available to answer any questions you may have about completing the census questionnaire. A “Questionnaire Assistance Center " will be set up on the first floor of the Courthouse in the alcove across from the elevators. Feel free to stop by to speak with their representative about the census form or any other question you may have about the 2010 Census.

Tere,thank you,thank you, thank you I was hoping somewhere here "Neighbors" was going to do a piece on the census,ironically I emailed Noel today,the census is available to everyone in many languages and there are interpreters available.This is critical to convey to folks because it is so important.It is only done once every decade and I remember we used it to demonstrate homelessness last time,so it is very important that we do as much as we can to see that our City is reported as accurately as possible. Thank you for providing it for our brothers and sisters in Spanish and for explaining by answering it correctly it can only help us.Muchos Gratia.
