The Art of Urban Environments Festival is in Full Swing in Easton

I took this shot of Stacy Levy's art installation Bushkill Curtain from Third Street, looking down on the creek, and I have to admit, it looks pretty cool! A beaded curtain of painted buoys hangs down into Bushkill Creek, responding to water current, water levels, and wind currents. All but one of the exhibits for The Art in Urban Environments Festival has been installed, and the final exhibit, Luke Wynne's  5'x 7' photography prints, which will be mounted around the chain link fence across from St. Anthony's, will be hung by the weekend. In addition to the exhibits themselves, there are all kinds of fun and interesting activities associated with this arts festival that visitors, residents and their families can participate in on Saturdays throughout the summer:

The creator of “Love Motel for Insects” invites you to
take a bug hike, make a butterfly net, do the jitterbug,
try your hand at insect origami, and if you dare,
insect pizza. Fun activities for the whole family.
Location: Williams Visual Arts Building, N. Third St., Easton, Pa.
8 – 10 p.m. Bug Party and Nocturnal Field Trip
Dress like a bug, take a nocturnal bug hike and check
out the intimate mating habits of insects at the “Love Motel.”*
Location: Williams Visual Arts Building, N. Third St., Easton, Pa.

*Please don't wear the insect repellent DEET and don't forget an EpiPen if you are allergic to bees.

The Art of Urban Environments Festival features outdoor sculptures by local and national artists that shine a fresh light on urban space. The sculptures are scattered through the city and Lafayette’s arts campus on North Third Street.  The festival is funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.  For more information,http://sites.lafayette.edu/urbanartsfest/.
