Gene and Dan Hunter will be leading a tour of their organic farm and edible forest
in Easton tomorrow morning from 8-10am

What a cool opportunity! Tomorrow morning, Gene and Dan Hunter are welcoming the public to come take a free tour of their 12-acre organic farm and "edible forest" at 901 Frost Hollow Road in Easton, PA 18040. Dan Hunter has been running a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm for two growing seasons now, through which
local residents from the surrounding area can get a fresh bag of produce every week from Hunter Hill Farm. Guests will do a walk through of the farm to see how things are grown using organic practices,  explore the beginnings and plans for an edible forest garden inspired by the book, Edible Forest Gardens by Dave Jacke and Eric Toensmeier, and learn how a CSA enterprise works.

Apparently, apples, wine berries, watermelon, carrots, potatoes, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, summer squash, snap peas, cucumbers and mushrooms are all possible in an edible forest--who knew?

This tour is co-hosted by the Alliance for Sustainable Communities, who will be having a brief meeting about "transition town" issues as well.

For more information, call Gene Hunter's cell at (215) 913-0343.
